
Good to Know before you Visit
General Information

- We are open Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm throughout the year, and over the Summer we also open on Saturday's between 10am-4pm. We close on Public Bank Holiday's.
​
- Dogs are allowed on the vineyard trail and in the Cellar Door Shop but must remain on a lead at all times, unfortunately they are not permitted in the Winery for Health & Safety.
​
- We do not have a restaurant on site, however we highly recommend The Purleigh Bell, our local village pub for after your visit to us, they stock our wines so you can continue your vineyard experience.
​
- Our customer and staff toilets are located between the Black Barn and Winery building in a white toilet block. There is one accessible toilet available for use, which is accessed via a ramp.

Cellar Door Saturdays take place over the Summer. Our Cellar Door Shop and Tasting Shed are open from 10am-4pm. Relax after a busy week and drink in the views.

What are Cellar Door Saturdays?
​
On Cellar Door Saturdays, our spacious, welcoming Cellar Door Shop will be open for barrel-top samples and wine sales. We have a range of seasonal offers and Mix & Match offers. In addition, our Tasting Shed is open for wine by the glass. Bring your friends, bring a picnic and enjoy the views.

Do I need to book Cellar Door Saturdays or can I walk-in?
​
No need to book for Cellar Door Saturday's, just drop in. We have plenty of indoor seating and picnic benches on our terrace overlooking the vines.
​
Can I bring dogs to Cellar Door Saturdays?
​
Yes, absolutely! Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome in our Cellar Door Shop, Tasting Shed and Vineyard Trail. We have plenty of water bowls and treats.

Do you serve food?
​
We don’t have a cafe or restaurant here at New Hall. However, you’re more than welcome to bring a picnic with you to enjoy with a glass of wine. We just ask that you take your rubbish away with you. Alternatively, we have some very special ‘pop-ups’ this summer featuring Maldon Oysters, Market West, Square and Circle Pizzas, and the Grazeful Girls charcuterie. Alternatively, why not visit our wonderful local pub, The Purleigh Bell for lunch after your visit.

Do I need to book self-guided wine flights?
​
We don’t take advance bookings for our self-guided wine flights. However, if you’re a large group of 6 or more, it’d be helpful to let us know your arrival time in advance by emailing Anna at office@newhallwines.co.uk during the week. For large groups, please be aware that we are small team so there may be some wait time as we prepare your flights. But please relax and enjoy the views!

I’ve been gifted a paper gift voucher; can I use it in the Cellar Door Shop?
​
Yes, paper vouchers purchased in our Cellar Door Shop can be redeemed for Cellar Door wine purchases and self-guided wine flights.

Do I need to book a Friday Tastings or can I walk-in?

Our Friday Tastings will need to be booked in advance.

How do I book onto a Friday Tasting?
​
Bookings can be made online here.

Can my gift voucher be redeemed against a Friday Tasting?
​
Yes, e-vouchers purchased online can be used for Friday Tastings. Simply book your Tasting online here as normal, then enter your unique voucher code into the Discount Code section when you Checkout. Our online vouchers are valid for 12 months.

Can we bring children on a Friday Tasting?
​
Unfortunately, our Friday Tastings are not suitable for children. However, children are very welcome on our Cellar Door Saturdays and Open Days.

Are Dogs allowed on the Friday Tastings?
​
Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on Friday Tastings due to Health & Safety in the Winery. However, dogs are very welcome in our Cellar Door Shop, on Cellar Door Saturdays and our Open Days.

When should I arrive before the Friday Tastings?
​
Please arrive 10 minutes before the Tour is due to start. There’s plenty of parking in our yard between the Office and Cellar Door shop. If possible, please bring your email confirmation with you.

Do you serve food on Friday Tastings? Should I inform you of allergens?
​
We serve a bowl of salted nibbles during the wine tasting which may include nuts. Please inform us if you require alternatives. All nibbles are assembled in a premises that handles nuts.

Are Friday Tastings weather-dependant?
​
Our Friday Tastings run come rain and shine. If the weather is poor, we shall forego the vineyard tour and spend longer in the Winery.😊

Do I need to wear sturdy footwear?
​
The majority of time will be spent inside the Winery or Tasting during Friday Tastings, so no special footwear required.
​
Are Friday Tastings accessible for people with access needs?
​
Our Friday Tastings are very accessible for anyone with mobility aids; the Winery, Cellar Door Shop and Tasting Shed are all accessible via a ramp. Please phone our office team if you have any questions ahead of your visit.

What if I need to change or cancel my Friday Tasting booking?
​
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please inform us by email within 3 working days and a gift voucher will be issued for the value of your Tasting booking. The new voucher is valid for one year and can be redeemed against wine purchases or future tours subject to availability.
